Ancestry Announces 2015 Product and Content Lineup

Promotot.com reports that Ancestry, the world's leading family history service, has debuted an updated story centric website along with advancements in AncestryDNA. The new content will completely change the way people trace their ancestry. It is expected that in 2015about 1 billion new records will be added to the largest collection of historical records online.

Ushering in the next generation of family history this year Ancestry plans to launch some of the most innovative features and services that will make Ancestry an even more powerful resource. Utilizing the most advanced technologies Ancestry will offer an easier and more engaging way to discover the history of your family. In 2015 content roadmap will be anchored by their expected fall release of over 170 million name-searchable Probate and Wills images. This unprecedented collection of unique records will provide access to almost all wills probated in the U.S. from the mid 19th century to 2000.

Building on DNA Circles, AncestryDNA plans to enlarge its already huge database of over 700,000 genotyped members to over one million, which will result in even higher quality cousin matches. Using the latest genetic technology AncestryDNA will be able to help its customers discover new ancestors as far back as the 1700’s. After the successful launch of AncestryDNA in the UK, AncestryDNA offered its services to customers in Australia and Canada as well, connecting the English-speaking families like never before. Later this year, Ancestry resources will be available for users in Germany and Mexico. Statistics reveal that over 58 million Americans claim sole or partial German heritage as well as an estimated 34 million residents of Mexican origin. And AncestryDNA will help millions of people learn more about the history of their family.

Those who prefer to use mobile devices will be able to access 15 billion historical records due to an updated Ancestry mobile search feature in the iOS app. In April Ancestry is going to launch Ancestry Academy, a new resource with how-to tutorials and historical guidance to help experts and novices alike.
